Finding geolocations outside of Prewave

This article guides you on how to find geolocations outside of the questionnaire interface in Prewave

While completing a Prewave Product Origin Request, you may be asked to add coordinates for “product origin.”

An origin is a producer’s physical location: a farm, factory, site, or anywhere production occurs. To find origin coordinates, you can draw a polygon around the location on the map.

Follow these steps to input the geolocation data for your products’ origins. For further assistance, please contact our team at supplier-success@prewave.ai.

How to Locate and Add Product Origin Coordinates

1. Go to geojson.io

2. Enter the producer address or location as it was added into the Prewave Assessment. This will differ for each origin.

3. Zoom in until you find the exact location of the production area.

4. Click the “Draw Polygon” icon to begin drawing the polygon.

  • Click a point at the edge of the production area.
  • Click points on the corners (or around the border) of the production area to form a polygon.
  • Double-click to confirm the polygon.

5. The geo-coordinates will appear in the text field on the right. Click “copy” to copy this information.

6. Paste the geo-coordinates into the field in the Prewave Assessment.
