This article provides support in filling out your EUDR Supplier Maturity Assessment
The Supplier Maturity Assessment is a questionnaire aimed at verifying the data you have collected as part of your EUDR Due Diligence System. The questionnaire is free for you and relatively quick to fill out. You will need to create an account in Prewave to complete the questionnaire.
Companies use Prewave to make sure their suppliers are EUDR complaint. That means your customer will send you a request for a Supplier Maturity Assessment via the Prewave platform. Step-by-Step Guide
Register with Prewave
When you receive your first request, you will need to register on the Prewave platform.
- Check Your Inbox: Look for an email from Prewave containing the request.
- Click the Link: This will direct you to the Prewave platform.
- Enter Your Details: Provide the required information.
- Check for Confirmation: Complete registration by following the instructions in the confirmation email.
EUDR Due Diligence System
The first part of the assessment asks you about your EUDR Due Diligence System
- As the legislation starts in January 2025, you will need to provide Due Diligence Statements. This part of the assessment lets us and your customer know how ready you are for the EUDR.
- Communicate your readiness by selecting the option that shows how far you have got with implementing an EUDR Due Diligence System
- If your EUDR Due Diligence System is partially implemented, we will then ask when it will be ready for. If you don't have a system and believe you are not affected, that is an option you can also select
If you do have an EUDR Due Diligence System ready we will continue the questionnaire with the below sections. If you don't have a system ready, the questionnaire ends here.
EUDR Readiness
There second part of the assessment asks you to outline information you have collected
- Article 9 of the EUDR outlines documents and data you are required to collect. For this section you will answer Yes/No questions on what you have collected.
- Satellite Provider: you will need to provide the name(s) of the satellite data provider used to prove products are deforestation-free.
- Your Approach: we will also ask your approach on making sure products under the EUDR.
- Legislation: we will ask about about local relevant legislations in relation to:
- Land use rights
- Environmental protection
- Forest-related rules
- Third party rights
- Labour rights
- Human rights
- Free, prior and informed consent
- Tax, anti-corruption and trade
Risk Criteria
This part of the questionnaire asks you about risk criteria at producer level, as well as risk mitigation measures
- Article 10 states you need to have carried out a risk assessment, so at this point in the questionnaire we will ask you about this
- Risk Criteria: we will ask you about EUDR-specific risk criteria and what your source of information was for each
- Risk Mitigation: Measures to mitigate risk are part of Article 11 in the EUDR and relates to
- Additional data collected from producers
- Surveys or audits carried out
- Training of suppliers
- Supporting of suppliers
Prewave will assign red flags on certain questions, so make sure to answer everything to the best of your ability. This information will used to help your customers and your company comply with the EUDR. Once you have completed the Assessment, it will be available on Prewave and you will not need to do it again, unless information has changed or you don't yet have a Due Diligence System.
